Twin Thetas
Lauren and Morgan Trefny
showed their excitement for pledging Kappa Alpha Theta at Texas A & M University where they are majoring in chemical engineering. Lauren and Morgan have never been as happy and excited as they were on bid day! They loved their pledge class. The girls were the only Kappa Alpha Theta pledges from Memorial.

Coffee and conversation
Houston Junior Forum members reunited after summer to share stories of trips, children, grandchildren, and celebrations, and to welcome new members. Whirlwind championship
The Westside Whirlwinds U17 girls soccer team won the championship at the Kingwood Tournament held recently. In addition, they were also a finalist in the Labor Day Cup. The girls are all sophomores or juniors at Memorial, Stratford, Houston Christian, Kinkaid, Cypress Falls, and Awty High Schools. Be my teddy bear
Kindergarten students MaryKate Guerre and Mary Katherine Broderick enjoyed participating with Mrs. Mary Jo Montalbano in a “beary” special annual tradition at Memorial’s St. Cecilia Catholic School. The tradition, the Teddy Bear Picnic, is a culmination activity for the study of teddy bears. The picnic included a bear hunt and a celebration of biscuits and honey.

Time to celebrate
Celebration Ministries of Chapelwood United Methodist Church will host author and speaker Jan Silvious on Tuesday, October 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for their annual Celebration! New principal in town
Judi Lindahl
(right) hosted a meet the principal party at her house recently to introduce new Rummel Creek Elementary Principal Nancy Harn (center). All school parents were invited to come and meet Nancy and hear her goals for the school. PTA President Susan Griffin (left) was there to welcome the new principal and talk about the exciting events the PTA will be hosting in the upcoming year. The event was a huge success and Rummel Creek students are enjoying a fantastic year under Nancy’s leadership!
