While I was at doggy daycare last week, playtime was exhausting. You know, this Texas heat is a killer. Anyway, my buds and I were chatting at the water bowl, and one of the younger pups asked us old guys how we became so wise. I started to take offense because, really, I am 11, but I believe you are only as old as you feel. The pup waited for any one of us to give him an answer. Well, it didn’t take me long to give credit to my loving human family. With training and love since 6 months of age, I am a cool guy – social, potty trained and one heck of a watch dog. The pup asked for any other tips. I then told him, we older dogs, we play hard but break often. Oh, and as the Dos Equis man says, live most of your life “off the record.”
