With its victory over Dallas Christian in the TAPPS state final, Westbury Christian captured its 17th state championship in boys basketball.

For the 17th time in school history, the Westbury Christian boys basketball team is a state champion.

An 81-yard touchdown reception by Harrison West helped ignite the Episcopal Knights to a 28-21 victory over Kinkaid in the SCP Division 1 championship game.

The Emery/Weiner School is once again home to a football champion. The Jaguars continued their string of six-man football titles by winning the Iron Man Six-Man tournament for the third consecutive season. The season-ending tournament brings together the top independent six-man football teams from across the state.

The St. Thomas’ Episcopal boys cross country team took hold of yet another state title this fall by winning its fourth consecutive TAPPS 3A State Championship.

Sophomore Jack Brady connected on a 37-yard field goal in the final seconds to give St. Thomas High School its first football victory over Strake Jesuit in 14 seasons.

Before a national television audience on ESPNU, the St. Pius Panthers defeated the Sealy Tigers 45-21 to raise its early season record to a perfect 2-0. A week earlier, the Panthers had beaten Kinkaid 38-14.

The high school sports season closed out in grand fashion for the Strake Jesuit water polo team, which captured its first TISCA State Water Polo Championship.

With 49 goals in the regular season, junior Natalie Cohen was the leading scorer for the District 20-5A Champion Lamar Redskins soccer team.

For the third consecutive season, the Lamar girls soccer team captured the District 20-5A championship.  The Redskins finished the regular season with a school-record 22 victories against only two losses.
